Devastation of Hair Loss
Most women don't want to go out in public with patches of hair missing or completely bald. They want to look like themselves! And they don't want the uninvited attention that wearing a scarf or a "bad" wig attracts, sending a visible "neon sign" that they are ill.
Yet shopping for a wig can be a difficult experience,
and typical, off-the-shelf wigs are uncomfortable, hot, don't fit right and look "like a wig." That's why we
created Stylemakers Look Like Myself™, a private,
custom wig service for cancer patients and survivors.

Experience Working with Cancer Patients
Stylemakers Salon has offered high-end salon services in Fort Worth since 1992 and
has worked with cancer patients for over three years to provide private wig consultations, fittings and styling sessions.
Most of our Stylemakers Look Like Myself™ clients are women who come to us during one of the following phases of hair loss:
1. I just got diagnosed with cancer.
Help! I have been diagnosed with cancer and must undergo chemotherapy. I am worried about losing my hair. Should I get a wig and where should I go?
2. My hair is falling out.
I am undergoing chemotherapy, and my hair is falling out. I think I just pulled a
cat out of may hair. What should I do?
3. My hair is growing back in.
But it doesn't look like my hair! It's wiry and thinner (or thicker) and a different color. How do I take care of this new hair of mine!?

The Earlier We Can Start Working With a Cancer Patient, the Better!
We try to match hair texture, color and style as close as possible (unless you want to try a new look). For those we can see before chemo treatments, we take hair samples and photos to get the closest match possible. Most of our clients come to us after their hair starts or has completely fallen out, and we work off of photos and descriptions you give us.
Next, we measure your scalp so that your wig uniquely fits your head. One of the biggest problems with typical, off-the-shelf wigs is the fit - not everyone's head is the same size or shape, their ears aren't in the same place, etc. Another downfall to off-the-shelf wigs is that they are made out of synthetic hair, and there's too much of it - it's obvious the hair is a wig. And it doesn't look like you.
Shopping for a typical wig is also a problem because it can be a difficult experience most women would rather avoid! That's why Stylemakers offers private, free consultations.
